CDC Investigating mRNA Vaccines Due to Heart Inflammation

CDC is actively investigating reports of people developing myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle) after receiving a mRNA COVID-19 vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna). Most of these people fully recover, but information is not yet available about potential long-term effects.

One has to have survived this condition for at least 90 days to be able to participate in the study. If so, one can contact the CDC to participate. (That is what the site implies even though the idea is that if you just received the shot and developed the condition within the last 90 days you cannot be part of the study.)

There is another investigation by US authorities based on a Canadian report indicating that the Moderna vaccine is more than 2x more likely to cause the problem compared to Pfizer’s.
